Mission/General Information:

Southbury Celebration is a town-wide event featuring food, music and fireworks and is scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The annual program is co-sponsored by the Town of Southbury and the Southbury Training School and is hosted at beautiful Lake Stibbs at the Southbury Training School on Route 172. The community event draws approximately 5,000 per year for community fellowship, fireworks, food, and music!

Since 1999 the Town of Southbury has provided the financial support in the town’s annual budget. In 2009 funding was not included in the original budget but was partially restored in April 2009 when the town’s projected revenue increased. In 2010 due to the difficult economy, the town’s 2010-2011 budget did not provide funding. The committee instead organized a grassroots fundraiser to help make this celebration happen.
