To Become a Voter (to Register in Southbury)
You can register to vote by coming to the Registrar of Voters’ office at Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main Street South; Room 206; Monday-Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
To become a voter (to register in Southbury), a person must be:
- A resident of Southbury
- 18 years of age or older
- A U.S. Citizen
You must show or provide a valid identification (ID). Acceptable ID's include (only ONE is necessary):

A valid driver’s license or other photo ID

U.S Passport

A pre-printed form of ID, like a tax bill or utility bill, pay stub or bank statement

Social Security card
Property owners who are not registered voters in Southbury may vote on the "Grand List" at town referendums providing they are U.S. Citizens, 18 years of age or older and own property valued at $1,000.00 or more. However, ownership of property cannot be in a "trust".
