General Information:

Welcome to The Town of Southbury Parks & Recreation department.

The Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce the availability of the SOLAR System (Southbury On Line Activities Registration), developed to allow you to register and pay for P&R sponsored activities/programs from any internet connected device, whether at home, at work or while traveling.  Just click on the above picture or click "On Line Registration" on the left navigation area to get started.  At the present time only select programs are available for on line registration; look for the Fall 2010 programs for expanded on line registration.

Your Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a diverse range of events, activities, and programs for the youth and young at heart of the Town of Southbury. These offerings are designed to meet the physical, social, cultural and educational needs of the community for those of all ages.

For the enjoyment of friends and families alike, the P&R Department annually holds such special events as the Town easter egg hunt, Memorial Day family picnic, letters from north pole, summer concert series, and the holiday tree lighting.

Activity brochures are published seasonally offering a variety of programs from athletics and enrichment programs. Eleven town parks are available for active and passive recreational use.

The department also maintains 12 ballfields, 4 outdoor basketball courts, 10 soccer fields, a football field, 6 tennis courts, 2 volleyball courts, a bocce court, 2 shuffle boards, a town pool and large outdoor pavilion.

The town also maintains playgrounds at Ballantine Park, Lakeside and Cedarland Park, a walking track and fitness trail at Ewald Park, boat ramp and dock on Lake Lillinonah and the Town Beach on Lake Zoar.
